How to filter out the garbage
Hi, my name is John Dye and I live in the upper 1 United States. (Not the Touched By An Angel actor of course. He recently died.)
How many bloggers do you suppose use there actual name in the blogosphere. Not very many from what I see.
If you knew it was your kooky next door neighbor would you sit and listen to him, or walk away. That’s the problem with anonymity on the web. People who couldn’t even find Alaska on a map are free to slander and miss-state facts as if they really knew what there talking about. Then others just as ignorant accept everything said as fact, passing the same garbage around even further.
I think something like a quick IQ test of some sort and a clean or dirty mouth rating would work to filter Blogs into category’s that you can choose from. If you don’t make the grade, your post goes down to the bottom. If you like cussing or are a racist, way down to the bottom. I like getting other people’s opinion, but can’t stand reading all the baloney.
Another problem is sites like Huffington Post and Newsvine. It seems like all the hard core lefties get together just whack each other off. That’s just weird to me. I want diverse, intelligent, thoughtful commentary on a wide range of topics and am already tired of the same old rhetoric.
Look, I’m just a dad, equipment operator and commercial fisherman, but this web thing is pretty cool. I don’t even need TV anymore. Can’t believe I said that!!
I sure hope I’m not the only one that feels this way, or this may be my first and last post here on Write The Scoop. Please reply so I can get some insight into this new phenomena call blogging.
